As we settle into a new normal – at least for the foreseeable future – the Nepean Blue Devils Basketball Club has been looking for ways to provide programming to our membership that will help our players continue to enjoy and participate in the sport of basketball. Over the last month the club has been able to secure funding from the provincial government that will allow us to offer virtual summer basketball camps free of charge to our memberships.

These camps are designed to be delivered via video, social media and printed material. The older camp participants should be able to follow the material on their own. The younger participants may need some guidance from an adult or older sibling. The camps will run from 8:45 to 12:00 pm each day of the week and include daily interaction with the camp counsellors. Awards will be handed out each day and participants will be able to track their progress and participation. The only equipment required is a basketball with access to an outdoor hoop an added bonus. There are two camps being prepared – a junior camp with drills and activities geared for players ages 8-11 and a senior camp with drills and activities geared for players ages 12-14.

The schedule is as follows:

July 6 – July 10 – Junior Camp – session 1
July 13 – July 17 – Senior Camp – session 1
July 20 – July 24 – Junior Camp – session 2
July 27 – July 31 – Senior Camp – session 2
Aug 4 – Aug 7 – Junior Camp – session 3
Aug 10 – Aug 14 – Senior Camp – session 3

In order to participate in the camp we need the participants to register via the clubs registration system. Registration will open on Monday June, 1st. Participants are free to participate in as many sessions as they like.
