Summer Camps

The NBBA will run 6 evening camps and 2 day camps at Ottawa Christian School (255 Tartan Drive). The camps will be run in partnership with Above the Rim Basketball School, which will provide the staff and curriculum. Above the Rim has been providing youth basketball development programs and day camps in the Ottawa area since 1997 and is known for a high-quality coaching staff that is professional and knowledgeable.

Weekly evening camps will held be on Wednesday nights for girls and on Tuesday and Thursday nights for boys. Different skills will be emphasized each week. Time slots are 6:00 to 7:30 pm for ages 9-11 (born 2013 to 2015) and 7:30 to 9:00 pm for ages 12-14 (born 2010 to 2012). Evening camps will run over a 7-week period starting the week of July 2. (The gym is not available for the evening camps on August 13.) Registration fees are $200 for the 7-week evening camps and $170 for the 6-week camps on Tuesdays.

Co-ed day camps will be held during the week of August 12-16, and are advanced skills camps targeted to experienced players who are looking to build their skillset. The morning camp will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon for girls and boys ages 11-13 (born 2011 to 2013) and the afternoon camp from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for boys and girls ages 14-16 (born 2008 to 2010). The afternoon day camp on August 13 will run from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The registration fee is $245.

Summer 3-on-3

After a successful launch last year, a weekly 3-on-3 program will be back for another summer at the Minto Recreation Complex, with girls on Tuesday nights and boys on Wednesday nights. This exciting program will be open to U12 to U19 girls and boys, and run for 7 weeks starting the week of July 2. Time slots are 6:00 to 7:45 pm for U12 and U14 players, and 7:45 to 9:30 pm for U16 and U19 players (see below).

The format is “pick-up basketball” with no fixed teams, coaches, or referees. Every week, registered players will be made into teams by program convenors and play three 10-minute games (halfcourt) with running time. Playing experience is highly recommended. Program convenors will provide game balls. Ball sizes will vary for each age-gender group, and rules will be in place to ensure fair play and safety.

The registration fee is $50. Registration for each age-gender group is limited to 32 players, with a waitlist option. Here is a link to the registration form,
