NBBA is committed to making basketball accessible to athletes and families who may be experiencing financial barriers.
We understand that the cost of basketball can be challenging, particularly when additional team fees, uniforms, tournaments and other expenses are involved. Our goal is to work with families to find a solution that allows their athlete to continue playing.
There are several options available to families who may need financial support:
If paying the full registration amount upfront is difficult, NBBA can work with families to establish a payment plan that works for their circumstances.
Please contact the NBBA General Manager to discuss your needs. All requests are handled confidentially, and we will do our best to find a manageable payment schedule.
Families may also be eligible for financial assistance through charitable organizations such as KidSport and Jumpstart.
Because the application process requires registration information or an invoice, please contact the NBBA General Manager before making your registration payment or applying for assistance. We will work with you to determine the best way to proceed based on your circumstances.
If you are applying for KidSport or Jumpstart, NBBA can provide the information you need to support your application. In some cases, families may be asked to select the applicable funding organization as their payment method during registration so that an invoice can be generated without requiring payment upfront.
Please contact the General Manager first so we can make sure the process is set up correctly for your family.
Once funding is approved and received by NBBA, it will be applied toward the athlete’s eligible registration costs.
If the funding received does not cover the full amount, we will work with your family to discuss the remaining balance and any other options that may be available.
This year, the need for financial assistance within our club has never been greater. We do not want a family’s financial circumstances to be the reason an athlete has to stop playing basketball.
NBBA is currently working on our Sponsor an Athlete Campaign and has begun outreach to local businesses, community members and our broader NBBA community to help raise additional funds for athletes and families facing financial barriers.
Through this campaign, we hope to build another source of funding that can help offset costs associated with participating in basketball, including:

We are actively working to build this fund, but we also need the help of our community.
If you know of a local business, community organization, family member or individual who may be interested in supporting an athlete, please connect them with us. You may also have a fundraising idea, a community connection or another way to help us raise funds — we want to hear from you.
Every contribution can make a difference. Whether it is $50, $100, $300 or a larger contribution toward an athlete’s costs, small contributions from many people can have a significant impact.
