Hi NBBA Families,
We’re reaching out to our NBBA community because we need your help.
This year, the need for financial assistance has been greater than we have ever seen in the past. We have more athletes and families asking for support, and we have already committed almost $10,000 in financial assistance, with that number expected to grow as competitive teams are finalized and additional team and uniform costs come into play.
We said yes because we believe every kid who wants to play should have the opportunity to do so.
We don’t want to turn anyone away because they can’t afford to play.
But to make that possible, we need our entire community to get behind it.
We’re launching our Sponsor an Athlete Campaign to help raise additional funds specifically for athletes who need financial assistance. The attached poster outlines some simple sponsorship levels, but we’re not looking for everyone to write a big cheque. We’re looking for people who are willing to help however they can.
Maybe you know a local business that would be willing to cover the cost of an athlete’s registration, a uniform package, a tournament fee or even a new pair of shoes.
Maybe you have a connection with a community organization.
Maybe you have an idea for a fundraiser that could help a team or a group of athletes.
Maybe you know someone who would be happy to sponsor $50, $100 or $300+.
If you have an idea, a connection, or a way you think you can help, we want to hear from you.
We’re going to do everything we can on our end to support families who need assistance. We just need some help from the people who make up NBBA — our athletes, parents, coaches, alumni and community.
Every contribution can make a difference. A sponsorship could help cover registration, team fees, a uniform, tournament costs or other expenses that might otherwise put basketball out of reach for a young athlete.
And the impact goes beyond paying a fee.
It means a player gets to stay with their team.
It means they get to keep showing up to practice.
It means they get to compete, make friends, build confidence and be part of something.
We believe every player deserves a chance to play. We just need our community to help us make that possible.
If you can contribute, know a business that might be interested, or have an idea for how we can raise more funds, please reach out to us at generalmanager@nepeanbluedevils.ca.
And please feel free to share the attached poster with your own networks. The more people who see it, the more athletes we can hopefully keep on the court.
Thank you for helping us take care of our own.
